Many of you know that I created a campaign last year called the #BeUnstoppable Campaign. It had great success and I am so proud of the lives we were able to touch during that time. The #BeUnstoppale Campaign was all about empowering those with disabilities and showing our community that those with disabilities are not defined by their disability, but are unstoppable. This year I want to take it a step further, which is why I am proud to announce the #KnowYourRights movement.
This movement is all about empowering individuals with disabilities, to truly find the power to advocate for themselves. Because once we have knowledge of what is going on around us, we are able to turn it into power and see positive change.
Over this year, we will be tackling big topics that affect those in the disability community. The #KnowYourRights movement will cover topics such as
* Government funding for disability services
* Employment rights
* Self Identification
* Sheltered Workshops
* Civil Rights
...and many more.
These topics will have great information for self advocates, guardians, disability advocates, and anyone else in the disability community. I am so excited to bring this movement to life and help our largest minority in America finally be able to truly have their voices heard. We empowered others last year, its time to help them make a difference this year. Adding another hashtag to the #BeUnstoppable Campaign, I am your Campaign founder and Miss Heart of the Midwest 2017, Krystian Alisha Fish.
